Overview
Coze Studio is the agent development platform ByteDance open-sourced in July 2025, sharing its lineage with the commercial Coze: visual building, knowledge bases, workflows, and plugins, with official one-command Docker deployment. It fills the missing piece of the Coze ecosystem — enterprises that want the Coze experience while keeping data inside their own network can now self-host. Compared with Dify, Coze Studio matches the Coze cloud UX exactly and adapts well to the Doubao model family, so China-based teams ramp up with zero friction; its weakness is a younger open-source community with fewer templates than Dify. It fits teams migrating from Coze cloud to private deployment and enterprises that prefer the ByteDance stack. Self-hosted data stays fully local; cloud model APIs follow the provider's policy.
